Uncertainty and confusion over New York’s new handgun restrictions: Starting Thursday, New York is set to become the first state to criminalize the carrying of handguns on all private property without explicit permission — a crime that could result in a prison sentence. The new gun control law will also increase training requirements and require disclosure of social media accounts for new gun applicants. But there is more confusion than clarity about how the law will be rolled out. Some counties, like Onondaga, say they are still awaiting state guidance on how to proceed.

What is the trend

The group that called Brandon Williams a “liberal elitist” invested more than $1 million in his campaign: In the days leading up to the recent primary election, a group linked to House Republican leaders spent nearly $1 million on a blitz TV ad telling central New Yorkers that Brandon Williams is a ‘liberal elitist’. who should not be elected to Congress. Apparently, the group doesn’t think it’s that bad anymore, as they now say they’ve set aside $1.7 million in CNY TV advertising time this fall to support Williams.

The chipmaker did not rule out CNY for the factory: Central New York’s hopes of landing a major semiconductor factory appeared to take a hit over the weekend with a report that Micron Technology Inc. is looking into building a $40 billion factory. in Texas. Fair Flashback: Inside the State Fair Grandstand’s Most Legendary Year:Live music is one of the mainstays of the New York State Fair. Every year, thousands of music fans attend. In the years leading up to St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater and Chevy Park, concerts featuring some of music’s greatest acts were held at the Grandstand. Music tastes vary, and it’s hard to say one year was better than another, but the 1992 lineup could be considered the biggest in State Fair history.

The newest fair trade treat: BBQ pork…with Reese’s Cups? The sign hanging above Charlie’s Famous Steak Pit booth promoting ‘The Latest Craze’ at the State Fair is raising a lot of eyebrows – it’s a pulled pork sandwich with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups covered in sauce dinosaur bbq. We tried it, so you don’t have to (but believe it or not, you probably should).
