Ed Sheeran has landed his next film role in an upcoming British action comedy titled Maternity.
The singer-songwriter was cast alongside Danny Sapani (Black Panther), Jennifer Saunders (absolutely fabulous) and Peter Serafinowicz (The tick) for director Adam Deacon.
Written by Deacon, Smaternity also marks the director’s return to film more than a decade after his directorial debut, Anuvahood.
The Hollywood Reporter confirms the action-comedy will be filmed in Hackney and east London in February and March, while plot details are yet to be confirmed.

Celebrating the talented lineup, Deacon said, “We’re so excited to have this amazing cast join the project bringing these wacky, crazy characters to life.”
He continued: “More than ever, we are celebrating the variety of life in East London in 2022. Both darkly authentic and embracing the dynamic and diverse lifestyle of living in a council estate of the east of London.
“This film is going to be a blast of fun with action and comedy at every turn, while tackling serious subject matter with raw emotion and harsh reality,” Deacon concluded.
