Large BLUEgrass Benefit Concert at Sugar Pine Point State Park

The Sierra State Park Foundation will host a bluegrass concert at 5 p.m. on Friday, August 5 at Sugar Pine Point State Park, with proceeds going to Tahoe State Parks.

General admission tickets are $35 and youth tickets are available for $10. Parking is $10 and not included with ticket purchase.

The evening’s lineup includes the Truckee School of Music, Loretta Lynch, Broken Compass Bluegrass and Coburn Station.

Additionally, food vendors at the event include Big Blue Q and Hand Dipped Ice Cream, with beer sponsored by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company and wine provided by Highway 7.

Doors to the event open at 4 p.m. and music will play until dark. Ticket sales end Thursday evening.

Live Music Series in The Village at Palisades

Join Palisades Tahoe for free live music every Friday this summer from 5-7 p.m. in the village.

2nd Annual Mountain Lotus Bazaar

Enjoy a fun day at the Mountain Lotus Summer Bazaar in Truckee, 10124 E Street, 12-9 p.m., Saturday, August 6.

From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., local wellness vendors, as well as arts and crafts vendors. From 4-6 p.m., special guest speaker Adam Kimble will give a talk on Peak Performance: Achieving your Impossible.

This will be followed by live music from Indie Folk band Go By Ocean. Food will be available from Mountain Lotus Provisions.

Saturday Maker’s Market at Kings Beach

Tahoe Backyard presents the Saturday Maker’s Market from 3-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 6 for an afternoon of meeting local vendors, makers, artists and more.

Food trucks and entertainment are also available, with drinks from Bear Belly Brewing Co. also on sale. With garden games and family fun, this is an event not to be missed.

Youth Backcountry Camp Naturalist

The Tahoe Rim Trail is hosting another backcountry camping trip for youth ages 12-14 Wednesday-Sunday August 10-13.

The trip will allow young people to make new friends while learning new skills in the backcountry while covering between three and six miles a day.

Fees are on a sliding scale basis, which offers several different payment options, as well as scholarship options.

Fees will include food, camping gear, all necessary permits, and transportation to and from trailheads. Participants only need to bring shoes, clothes and excitement to go out.

Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Camp for Kids

Kids looking for mindful fun can join the GyoHarmony Sound and Healing Arts Center for the Yoga Sound Healing Wellness Kids Camp.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, August 8, children will be able to participate in mindful activities and mediations, as well as an exploration around Donner Lake.

After the hike, snacks and lunch will be served, culminating in a music session and sound bath.

Truckee Certified Farmer’s Market

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, the Truckee Certified Farmers Market will be held at Truckee River Regional Park.

The marketplace will include multiple vendors and is free to the public.

Northstar Bocce Ball Nights

Northstar hosts Bocce Ball nights, open to leagues or guests to enjoy a free game with acoustic artists at 5 p.m. Monday through September 5.

Additionally, the Overlook Bar will be open and guests are welcome to bring their own food and enjoy the evening at the resort.

League registrations have ended, but matches will still be run throughout the evenings and acoustic sets will continue to play.

Bluesdays at Palisades Tahoe

The Village at Palisades Tahoe is hosting the return of Bluesdays, the free summer concert series featuring top blues musicians from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday through August 30.

The event, located in the Events Plaza, is packed with performers, featuring JC Smith this Tuesday, August 9.

Additionally, an outdoor Blues Bar will be open with beer, wine and spirits. Take-out meals will be available in the restaurants of the Village.

Seating is limited and customers are encouraged to bring their own chairs if available.
