Nickelodeon revives classic comedy Snowy day (pictured) as a live-action musical feature, and has just begun filming the project in Montreal.
The film, set to premiere later this year on Paramount+, will follow a group of kids who set out to break routines, take risks and follow their dreams when their school closes for a snowy day.
Emmy winner Michael Lembeck (Santa Claus 2 and 3) is directing, with a screenplay by Samantha Martin (Henry Danger the Musical), who also wrote the original music for the picture. Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action co-heads Zack Olin and Shauna Phelan oversee production at Nickelodeon Studios. Brittany Cope is Nick’s executive in charge of production.
The film’s cast includes Ky Baldwin (Peter Allen: Not the boy next door), Michaela Russell (Wanda Vision), Shelby Simmons (Superimposed), Fabi Aguirre (“Les Miserables” on Broadway) and Jerry Trainor (iCarly).
