1975 have teased the lyrics to their comeback single ‘Part Of The Band’, which is due out next month – see below.
Last month, mysterious posters appeared in London with a black and white photo from a distance with frontman Matty Healy, and a date of July 7. This date was later confirmed as an important date for the band ahead of the release of their as-yet-untitled fifth studio album.
The track “Part Of The Band” was later confirmed by the band’s official social media accounts with the July 7 release date re-shared.
Now, new billboards have appeared with the lyrics to the comeback single. Shared on Instagram by the Dirty Hit label, the song begins with the words: “She was in the Air Force / I was in the band.”

The band’s most recent album came out in mid-2020 with “Notes On A Conditional Form,” and in early 2022 they shared footage that appeared to show the band hard at work in the studio.
The sequel to the four-track “Notes On A Conditional Form” has been the subject of fan speculation for some time, with Healy teasing the prospect of “making another ‘classic record'” in August 2021.
Healy also teased material from his Drive Like I Do side project, telling fans the project will include “a bit of new music.”
In August, The 1975 will return live, playing two concerts as part of the Summer Sonic Festival in Japan. The gigs will mark the band’s first gigs since performing in Dublin in March 2020.
