Peat’s Cider Social is thrilled to announce its 2nd Annual Halloween Maker’s Market this Saturday, October 22 and hopes you’ll join the community for a day of shopping, tasting, and celebrating fall.

“We are makers ourselves and wanted to find a way to celebrate other local makers,” says Leah Peat, owner of Peat’s Cider Social. “It’s really important to us to help showcase and support those who create in our local community. We also love spooky season, so it was a good time to organize an event like this!

2021 brought the first ever Makers Market to the cider house, and rivaling their ‘Day of the Dude’ celebration, it was the biggest event of the year. “Everything at the Halloween Maker’s Market is handmade or lovingly hand-picked by local makers, and you’ll find a bit of everything,” Leah says.

The day’s festivities begin at 1 p.m. and vendors will be set up on the pretty terrace selling wares until 6 p.m. A delicious barbecue from Pigs By Bigs will be available for purchase, along with treats, donuts and apple cider. Live music will fill your ears from 5-7 p.m., by Modern Vultures, a brilliant mix of musicians from several local Southwest Michigan bands, who have graced festivals and breweries with their sensational sounds in our area for the past few years. .

The assortment of goods from local vendors in the market is extensive. “We’ve worked very hard to make sure we don’t duplicate the types of merchandise our vendors sell,” says Leah. “Now will be a great time to shop local and get a head start on your holiday gifts.”
Among Peat’s many refreshing beverages, you’ll find candles, jewelry, art, books and plants, pottery, leather goods, body scrubs, candy, jams + jellies, and even clothing. for children.

You can find Peat’s Cider Social at 6201 Red Arrow Highway in Stevensville (just look for the apple!) and on Saturdays their doors open at noon. The fall bowling leagues begin this week, and the 8-week session of casual bowling and friendly competition is open to anyone looking to knock down some pins. You can register for league bowling here.
