Tide Lines announce tour and new album

After their recent comeback with the single ‘Rivers In The Light’, Tide Lines can now announce that their new album ‘An Ocean Full Of Islands’ will be released on February 24th. The album follows DIY’s successful release “Eye of the Storm,” which entered the charts at #12 in 2020 and only missed the Top 10 by a handful of sales.

Tide Lines releases the album alongside their brand new single “Written In the Scars”. Listen now. Today they also reveal details of a major UK tour scheduled for March 2023, which will see them play some of their biggest hits to date, including Edinburgh’s Usher Hall and London’s Electric Ballroom.

Collectively, “An Ocean Full Of Islands” is just as influenced by the towering melodic highs and driving choruses of rock as it is by the band’s folky heart, with added color provided by flashes of alt-pop production. These three elements converge to create a synthesis of three rarely unified sounds. And in Robert Robertson, the band has a leader whose voice thrives in every context explored, his rich tone capable of reaching soulful heights.

He says, “’An Ocean Full Of Islands’ is bigger in sound. Each track, as I sat down to write it, I thought: I really want this to be the next single. There are still ups and downs, but there are a lot more ups!”

What Tide Lines gained in dramatic breadth did not compromise the intimacy and honesty of Robertson’s lyrics. The new single “Written In The Scars” shows how her voice really conveys the meaning of her words. Life moves on relentlessly and you rarely have time to see how your experiences influence who you are. But just like a long-forgotten scar, the impact of these moments may fade but they never completely disappear.

He adds, “’Written in the Scars’ is a song about the passage of time. Life seems to run at a faster pace than ever and time flies too fast as a result. The song emphasizes that we rarely find a chance in today’s world to lose ourselves at any particular time.
